Some Assembly Required
Some Assembly Required
On May 21-23, join us at Mohawk College as we explore what it means to be part of this church together, because this is Our Home: Some Assembly Required. A house is not built in a day, and neither is a community, so we invite you all to join us as Pastor Kaarina Hsieh leads us to look into what that means for us as a church, and as Christians. Registration now!
You are strongly encouraged to sign up first, even if you may not have the necessary fees ready at the time - it's easier for us to remind you if we know you are coming, and we sure hope you are!
Fees: $100/adult (Gr.9 and above); $60/child (Gr.8 and below); $60/senior (65+). For those who are financially able to contribute beyond their required fees, the expected cost of our conference will be ~$27,500, so please pray and consider providing financial relief for those who are in need of it. We will also begin accepting offering for Spring Conference from the beginning of April through May.
Pastor Kaarina Hsieh has been engaged in pastoral ministries for over 20 years. Her ministry has been sustained by verses like Psalm 71:17-18.
For seventeen years, she served on Faculty and as Dean of Students at Tyndale Seminary. Kaarina has taught broadly in the areas of Youth and Family Ministry, Discipleship, Spiritual Formation, “Christ in Culture” and Leadership Development. She has in recent years focused her primary research and study around the spiritual formation of families and culture as it speaks to faith and God, which has nurtured in her a deep passion for the mentoring and discipleship of young adults. Kaarina has been blessed to teach and preach in a variety of settings including retreats, national, denominational and academic conferences as well as ministry conferences but her most treasured times are spent ministering to the local church, in small group teaching settings and in one on one mentoring.
She currently serves as Lead Pastor for Parkway Forest Community Church in Toronto and continues to serve as a Consulting Pastor in the GTA. She is a sought out speaker for seminars and workshops both in Canada and abroad. She serves on the Board for NextLEVEL Leadership and is frequently consulted for leadership training for new pastors and multi-level church settings.
In her leisure time, Kaarina and her husband who serves as a Medical Doctor in the city, enjoy gardening, travel (more specifically, eating their way across various cities and countries) and during basketball season can frequently be found at the Air Canada Centre sporting Raptors red.
